Network
CPEI is a member of the Chaplain Resource Network, which supports chaplaincy resources, continuing education, professional development, and spiritual care connections.
CPEI professional development includes structured continuing education, peer learning, professional networking, and growth opportunities for spiritual care professionals.
Continuing education may include formal courses, workshops, conferences, presentations, research, reading, writing, distance learning, connection groups, and other chaplaincy or spiritual care-related learning activities.
CPEI’s IACET approval supports professional learning through recognized continuing education practices and contact-hour documentation. Dr. Kay Myers supports CPEI’s IACET and compliance work.
Cadres provide space for regular professional connection, clinical case consultation, best-practice sharing, continuing education review, peer support, and communication between CPEI and members.
Through CPEI’s connection with the Chaplain Resource Network, members may have access to additional professional development, continuing education, and chaplaincy resources.
CPEI Cadres
CPEI Cadres are designed to support the professional growth of clinical chaplains, supervisor-educators, supervisory candidates, and CPEI members. Cadres create a smaller setting for connection, consultation, continuing education planning, professional accountability, and communication.
Cadres create space for members to build relationships, share experiences, and support one another professionally.
Members may use Cadres to discuss clinical cases, receive feedback, and learn from peers in a supportive setting.
Cadres help members identify strengths, areas for development, readiness for certification or supervisory training, and annual continuing education needs.
CPEI professional development includes annual continuing education expectations for credentialed professionals.
Chaplains
CPEI credentialed chaplains document a minimum of 10 contact hours each year.
Supervisor-Educators
CPEI Supervisor-Educators and CPEI Training Supervisor-Educators document a minimum of 15 contact hours each year.
Reporting
Continuing education and professional development activities are documented annually. Cadres may also support members in reviewing and reporting professional development activity.
