CPEI Credentialing
The CPEI Credentialing Committee oversees the review and evaluation of candidates for CPEI credentials. Through a fair and thorough peer-review process, the committee helps ensure that credentialing decisions reflect established standards for professional chaplaincy, ethical practice, and spiritual care.
Committee members bring experience in chaplaincy, clinical pastoral education, spiritual care leadership, and professional formation. Their work supports a credentialing process that is rigorous, consistent, and supportive of candidates.
Reviews candidate materials, written submissions, and supporting documentation.
Assesses readiness for credentialing according to CPEI standards and competencies.
Participates in credentialing panel interviews with eligible candidates.
Helps maintain a fair, ethical, and professionally grounded credentialing process.

Beth Snyder Jones, BCC, is a leader in professional chaplaincy and clinical pastoral education, with extensive experience in healthcare ministry and chaplain formation. As Chair of the CPEI Credentialing Committee, she supports a credentialing process that is rigorous, fair, and grounded in professional standards.

Credentialing Coordinator
Brian Schwammlein, BCC, supports the work of the CPEI Credentialing Committee through coordination of credentialing processes and review activities. He is committed to ensuring a process that is organized, consistent, and supportive of candidates as they move through credentialing.
