CPEI Credentialing
CPEI’s credentialing process is designed to assess professional preparation, reflective practice, ethical accountability, and readiness for chaplaincy or supervisory leadership. While requirements vary by credential level, each pathway includes application review, written materials, and a credentialing interview with a review panel.
The process is structured to help candidates demonstrate professional competence, pastoral identity, ethical practice, and readiness for the credential they are seeking.
Review the Credentialing Manual and confirm the education, CPE, endorsement, and experience requirements for your credentialing pathway.
Gather application materials such as transcripts, evaluations, recommendation or endorsement letters, essays, case materials, and your resume or CV.
Submit the appropriate credentialing application before the published deadline. Applications are reviewed to confirm that required documentation has been received.
Eligible candidates participate in a credentialing interview with a review panel to discuss their preparation, professional identity, practice, and readiness.
Following the review, candidates receive notification of the credentialing decision and any next steps or recommendations for continued professional development.
Choose the pathway that best reflects your education, experience, and professional goals.
